Run Free

The 2014 Run Free Race, the greatest race that never was, was held in May this year. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a race free of running. It’s silly fun. If you want to be intellectual about it, it’s an experiment. Can posting photos on social media of you pretending to be part of a marathon make your friends and family think you actually did it?

But it’s organized by a company called Ridiculo.us, so intellectual isn’t really the way to view this.

This year, it was an adventure run. Participants made up their own obstacles. Mine included perfecting a fall from a tree and palm tree hurdles. I made sure to rehydrate with Nestle’s Qik chocolate syrup and Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Then, I wrapped up with a fake television interview.

One of my photographers had an incident with a cactus at one point. It was hilarious.

Former high school water girl (really) finally running.

I started this blog as part of my participation with LLS Team In Training. I moved it to this site to continue my (still slow) running adventures in South Texas.
